PAC Achieves Green In Environmental Benchmarking

PAC Group achieves Green Level in the BITC 2020 Northern Ireland Environmental Benchmarking Survey.

The annual NI Environmental Benchmarking Survey, organised by responsible business network, Business in the Community, encourages organisations to measure and report on their environmental impacts, and to be proactive in taking steps to improve their environmental performance.

Over 100 organisations from more than 10 different sectors, including: manufacturing, utilities, education, construction, ICT, and food and drink, participated in the Survey, indicating that despite the challenges of 2020, sustainability is very much still on the agenda.

This has been proven with the release of the hugely popular Netflix documentary, David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet and by his subsequent record-breaking Instagram account, which reached one million followers in just over four hours.

Keen to play their part in contributing to a greener society, PAC Group participated in the Survey, achieving Green Level.

PAC Group Operations Director, Iain Parkhill, commented:

"We actively assist our customers with a wide range of projects that increase energy efficiency, improve productivity, and provide positive environmental impact. So, as a responsible business, it is important that we also take a proactive approach to managing our own environmental impacts and promoting sustainability within our company. We intend to take steps to improve our performance and look forward to achieving Bronze Level in the future."

Sponsored by Moy Park and supported by the Department for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, the Survey recognises and rewards organisations that are going above and beyond their legal environmental obligations.

Chair of Business in the Community and Group Chief Executive of Translink, Chris Conway, said:

"Stakeholders, suppliers, and the general public increasingly consider sustainability to be of utmost importance and the Survey is a way for organisations to publicly demonstrate their commitment to a greener future. I want to congratulate and thank all companies that have stepped forward to take part and report on their environmental practices."
