Industrial Electrical Installation

PAC Electrical won a tender for the installation of a new sub mains to an existing control panel in a leading industrial factory in the greater Belfast area.

OBJECTIVE

This industrial client required a 200amp 3-phase and neutral supply to be installed to a pre-existing control panel, along with new containment and an earthing system.

PROCESS

PAC Electrical’s design team were able to specify the correct cable type and size, along with a separate earth for the 200amp supply. Once the specification of the install had been designed, our team set to work on the installation, which included the following:

• Installation of Unistrut bracketry
• Installation of 6-inch heavy gauge cable tray
• Installation of SWA cable and separate CPC
• Glanding and termination at both ends
• Earth bonding
• NICEIC testing of installation

Due to the layout and configuration of the building, the installation of the cable run was challenging, but our team was able to overcome this with their experience and skill-sets coming to the fore.

OUTCOME

PAC Electrical delivered the install of the mains cable with minimum disruption to the client, and all work was carried out under BS7671 with a full set of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
