PAC Calibration were asked to supply a team of qualified C&I technicians to complete five 10 hour days of on-site calibration support during a shutdown for a local power station.
The remit of the work was to support the client's existing C&I on-site team with the calibration of the plant's temperature indicators and transmitters, and pressure indicators, transmitters, and switches. The PAC Calibration team tested the accuracy of plant instrumentation so that it operated within the specifications of plant operations.
After site induction, one of the PAC team was trained in the process required to obtain Permits to Work and was issued with keys for the client's lock-off system. This allowed the PAC Calibration team to carry out work without requiring constant supervision by the client's staff. Due to the nature of the work, some live voltage testing was required to test the 4-20ma measurement loops and plant pressure switches.
Units were tested using UKAS traceable equipment, with the results noted and recorded on PAC's database and the calibration certificates. Any anomalies were reported to the client's engineering department and adjustments were made, as required. In addition, any faulty instrumentation discovered was reported and replaced by our team.
At the end of the outage PAC Calibration issued the relevant certification to the client.
